HM Land Registry CCOD is documented as a source policy for corporate ownership data; the current public API contract does not yet specify its response fields.

How Rotuli uses this data

Rotuli's source policy describes HM Land Registry's UK Companies that Own Property dataset (CCOD) for corporate title records. The current published OpenAPI document does not declare land_holdings, a property endpoint, or a land entry in sources_checked, so source-policy facts are not an integration guarantee.

Published schema
Does not declare title_number, tenure, price_paid, address, or a land_holdings response object.
CCOD record scope
The source policy describes corporate ownership of registered land titles in England and Wales, including tenure.
Registered price
The source policy says a price paid is available only where HM Land Registry recorded one; it is not currently a published API field.
Address policy
If a property field is published, the source policy limits redistributed addresses to a postcode or null.

Freshness and handling

Publication and cache

The source policy says CCOD is refreshed when HM Land Registry publishes its monthly dataset, with a maximum cache age of seven days. This cadence does not make property fields part of the current published API contract.

Coverage

The dataset covers corporate ownership of registered titles in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland are served by separate registries and are not covered by this source.

Use and redistribution

This is data licensed for value-added use and must not be redistributed as a standalone dataset. The licence obligations apply to any published property support as well as to source-policy material.

Limits to preserve in your use case

  • If a price_paid field is published, null would mean no price was recorded in the source, not that the property has no value or no transaction history.
  • The record identifies corporate ownership in the source dataset; it is not a property valuation, title guarantee, or complete beneficial-ownership record.
  • Full property addresses are excluded because the Royal Mail PAF licence does not permit redistribution through this API.
